End of the year 2009 Portfolio Update
I have finally gotten around to updating my portfolio with most of the stuff I have done this year. It was hard to choose only a few of the photo shoots that Ive done. Even though it seems like I did almost nothing this year with my photography, I still had quite a few sets to select new portfolio images from. I hope everyone enjoys my updated 2009 portfolio.
Barrett-Jackson 2010 in Scottsdale
Many of you may remember my photos taken at Barret-Jackson 2009 in Scottsdale. Well I just submitted my application for a Barret-Jackson 2010 press pass. We will have to wait and see if they will give me a pass this time. Last time I was on contract from Whatspoppin, and this time I am basically trying to go just put the photos up here. Since I’m not working for a major company this time, I am not too sure if they will even consider my application, I also added another photographer to my list of people that will be going in, just to get even more good photographs of the 2010 auction. I’ll keep everyone posted on if they approve my application or not.
EDIT: 12/12 - I have been pre-approved for my press passes to the 2010 Barrett-Jackson auction. I have just bought a bunch of new photography stuff off of Amazon.com in anticipation of going in January to the car auction.
Next Photo Shoot
About 3 months ago I purchased about 20 glow stick necklaces, the long single glow stick type. The plan was to use them for a glow stick related photo shoot, but I just haven’t gotten around to setting one up. So I have come up with a general idea of what I want to do with them. I was thinking that a general body wrap made of the glow sticks, with maybe some saran wrap to give the light something to reflect off of on the body. I have also discovered that under a black light glow sticks glow brighter, which should enable some interesting shots using the lights I used for the Harajuka Girl photo shoot I did a few months ago. Now all I need to do is to select a model to do the shoot, Ill probably post if on craigslist in a few days if I don’t get any responses to this posting for models. This shoot should be pretty fun and interesting, well see how it works out.
North American Diskworld Convention 2009
Last week I finally put up the photographs from the the North American Diskworld Convention(NADWCON) 2009. So I just thought I would put up a post letting everyone know that they are up.
Koi Fish body painting
This is the latest in my body painting works. Koi Fish swimming in a pond and the beautiful Jackie Caballero. Unfortunately Jackie did not want to get her hair wet, so it killed all of the swimming around in the pool ideas that I had. Which was fine, the little time she did spend in the pool was obviously far too cold for her. Over all I think the shoot worked out alright, even if I was at a loss for poses to have her in.
The painting, as always was done by my wife. I think that this was her best body painting so far. I complain about the latex paint often, citing how difficult it is to really work with, but in the end I think that it is a fun paint, simply because in the end, the removal of the paint is just as much a part of the photo shoot as the painting and final product.
I had originally planned on a Yin/Yang painting with two models, but if I have learned anything in my attempts at being a photographer is it that models can only be relied upon to be unreliable. The second model canceled at 9pm the night before the shoot, expecting me to be able to replace her on such short notice.
I am loving the body painting shoots, and will probably be doing many more as soon as I have the opportunity to. If anyone wants to model, or has an amazing house or other location to use for a shoot, let me know.
Bodypainting

I have a bit of latex paint left over from 2 previous body painting efforts. I need to use it up before it expires. I am looking to body paint a swim suit or two onto a model, next week or the week after at my house in north Scottsdale.
I want to set up a yin and yang style opposites swim suits on two models and have them pose together, swim around a bit in the pool, lounge around by it, etc. The usual food and drinks(wine, etc.) that I have been in the habit of providing will available at the shoot, even though I always end up with way too many left overs after every shoot.
Let me know if you are interested in this, it will be TFP/TFCD. I will be putting a post up on Craigs list as well for this shoot.
Life Drawing Classes

EDIT: (09/14/2009) We have had a lot of interest in the Life Drawing and Figure Study classes. By both models interested in posing for the sessions, and artists wishing to attend them. Due to the large number of interested people, we set up a page for models to sign up and another page for students to sign up. We have also set up an email address for people to contact us about the classes at figurestudy@chutography.com
EDIT: (09/08/2009) Thanks to the generosity of my mother, the first few life drawing and figure study classes will most likely be held at my parents house on Carefree Highway and I-17. We are still accepting attendance requests and will be informing the people that have applied to attend the classes of the dates and times as soon as we come up with the first date.
I am going to start hosting life drawing and figure study classes.
My wife has been wanting to attend some life drawing classes, unfortunately most classes are at times when she is either at work or just getting off of work. So I decided to start hosting life drawing sessions for her.
Classes will be around $10 per person, the more people that attend the cheaper the classes will be. I have yet to decide on a location for the sessions, so if you can think of a place to hold them, let me know. Also, I have yet to find a model, although that should be pretty simple, but if you are interested in modeling let me know.
Each class will be themed and poses selected by the attendees. Photographs of the poses will be taken for continuing study of a pose, these will probably be printed and made available shortly after each session. Sessions will be held regularly, at intervals selected by the attendees, most likely either every two weeks or once a month. Sexy Little Harajuka Girl
A new series is up, I just did it last night. About $50 in black lights and a $100 outfit from hot topic, turned into some fun photos. I am still learning regular lighting techniques, so the use of an alternate light source was very difficult for me. You can tell in some of the photos, some are a bit to grainy. But I really did enjoy the shoot. Let me know what you think of it.
Going back to some old ideas…
I have been bored lately, more so than normal. I need to do something to keep myself entertained. I have been wanting to do a new photo shoot for some time, but just have yet to organize one. Finding models for TFP/TFCD work is very annoying. Additionally the lack of a studio really makes it hard to find a location to do shoots. I was thinking of setting up a room in the house, like the spare room where Hannah sleeps now as as studio. Unfortunately that would require a lot of cleaning to be done, and furniture to be moved; which normally wouldn’t be much of a problem. Except that Mike can be very annoying when doing anything, most especially if I have models over while he is at home.
I do how ever really want to do a new shoot, the last major shoot that I did was the Adidas Body painting shoot. I did do a quick shoot which had posted, removed, then re-posted called Purple Lined Corset. So either way it has been a long time since I have done much photography.
I did recently get picked up by MyClubScene.com to shoot events here in Phoenix. I just hope that it will be more entertaining and more reliably paying than the whatspoppin.net work was. I do miss going to an event every weekend.
Back to the idea of a photo shoot though. I still have many ideas that I would like to work on.

I recently went on craigslist and found a few local models looking for portfolio work, I contacted a few of them and so far out of 6 models, I only have had one respond back. I offered to help her with her portfolio and such a few days ago but have yet to hear back from her about if she wants my help or what she wants to do. I would be more than happy to just work on some free porfolios for some models right now, just for the opportunity to do some more photography and make some more contacts with some models that may be willing to do some of my creative works.
Every few weeks or so I start to get really sad because of my lack of photo shoots for that time period. At least when I was doing events every weekend I had plenty of photos to sort through and it gave me the illusion of doing some photo shoots. And Crystal is really seeming tired of me asking if she wants to do a photo shoot, since most of the time I have no idea what I actually want to do for that photo shoot. Most of the shoot ideas that I have or really want to work on, Crystal wont do, and I probably wouldn’t want her doing most of them, since she is my wife.
This is turing into the longest post I have made since moving to WordPress. It really makes me wonder why I even bother to do these posts, especially one so long, as most of them will never be read by anyone after thier posting. I may be on track to get over 3 million hit my site this month, but I really only get about 200 page views from about 40 people every month. That 3 million hits are all for the MTG pictures that I have hosted up on mtg.chutgoraphy.com. I wish I could find a way to get even 1% of those hits every month to my main website. I may set up a gallery that has all the MTG pics in it hosted, and let the google bot find them so that I can get hits off of people searching for specific cards and card scans. Just to get the view on my adSense ads and possibly to pull in some extra cash from that.
Unexpected Consequences
From July 15th to July 31st I had 1879043 hits on the site. Almost all all of those hits where for the MTG pictures hosted in my MTG Picture Assistant Mirror. From August 1st through August 6th I have had 679708 hits.
Now I just need to find some way to monetize this to my benefit. Draw some of those more than 2 million hits to my main page some how, or put ads into the downloads. Something, anything…
Iranian Elections

The purpose of this guide is to help you participate constructively in the Iranian election protests through Twitter.
1. Do NOT publicise proxy IP’s over twitter, and especially not using the #iranelection hashtag. Security forces are monitoring this hashtag, and the moment they identify a proxy IP they will block it in Iran. If you are creating new proxies for the Iranian bloggers, DM them to @stopAhmadi or @iran09 and they will distributed them discretely to bloggers in Iran.
2. Hashtags, the only two legitimate hashtags being used by bloggers in Iran are #iranelection and #gr88, other hashtag ideas run the risk of diluting the conversation.
3. Keep you bull$hit filter up! Security forces are now setting up twitter accounts to spread disinformation by posing as Iranian protesters. Please don’t retweet impetuosly, try to confirm information with reliable sources before retweeting. The legitimate sources are not hard to find and follow.
4. Help cover the bloggers: change your twitter settings so that your location is TEHRAN and your time zone is GMT +3.30. Security forces are hunting for bloggers using location and timezone searches. If we all become ‘Iranians’ it becomes much harder to find them.
5. Don’t blow their cover! If you discover a genuine source, please don’t publicise their name or location on a website. These bloggers are in REAL danger. Spread the word discretely through your own networks but don’t signpost them to the security forces. People are dying there, for real, please keep that in mind…

Purple Lined Corset Down, new series in the planning…
The purple lined corset series was removed from DA and from Chutography. The model did not want the series to be posted after seeing how bad they turned out. So I guess I should either start working on my next shoot, or just stop for a while.
The next shoots that I want to do are one with a painted on bathing suit, using all of the latex paint I still have left over. Have the model swim around and take photos of her swimming. Then have her get out of the pool and take pictures of her getting out of the pool and sun bathing.
The next shoot I want to do would be with all the beanie babies my wife has. I want to cover a model with them, as if they are her clothes. Even make a beanie baby tag for the model during the shoot.
The last one I want to do right now is another glow in the dark series, with either glow sticks, or other glowing accessories. And maybe even glow in the dark clothes, like a bra and panties and even like socks that have glow in the dark paint, or a shirt and panties and socks… Something like that. The last shoot idea came from my wife, so I still need to flesh it out.
Oh and Erik came up with an idea for a shoot, take two girls, cover them in blood and guts and do a zombie eating a human shoot… I’m trying to figure out the logistics of it, but it sounds like a great idea!
I also am trying to come up with an idea for another contest on Deviant Art called the story of a nude. Basically there should be an artistic nude photograph that has a story in it, then I have to make an accompanying story to put into the artists comments section of the submission.
Let me know if anyone can come up with any ideas, either for the story of a nude shoot, or just anything that may make a cool photo shoot.
Looking for a model…
So yea, Ive got an idea for a shoot, I just need a model now… I talked with some friends about it and they think its a good idea. They also asked how I can turn anything into something sexy… =)
Galleries Moved
I have moved all of the galleries from the old system to Wordpress. The only ting I havnt done is set up links to all of my old event galleries. Im an attempt to clean up the mountains of photos that are on the site I chose not to link to all of the old events. They are still there, I just havnt set them up. If for any reason you need some of the old event photos up here drop me a line and I can add them back. Mow Im off to find a theme for the site that I like.. =)
New Content Management System
I have moved over to word press for my content management thanks to the recommendation of Lulu. So far Im liking the new CMS, but it is taking me some time to move all of my old galleries to word press.
